Tammi and Dan Ketterman own Lynden and have been riding hunters and western since they were children. Their six daughters have been riding since birth. Jackie, the oldest, is our riding instructor. She grew up riding, training, showing, and hunting ponies and off-the-track Thoroughbreds and has won many local and 4-H championships. Jackie was on the Mary Washington College equestrian team, where she was a regional champion. She also holds a masters degree in Elementary Education and taught fourth grade and kindergarten in Loudoun County Public Schools for 10 years. She now helps out in the family business, Ketterman's Jewelers. Jackie has taught riding lessons at Lynden since June 2004 and is ready to help your child learn the dedication, skill, and fun in equestrian sport.
Lynden is located on 30 beautiful acres overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains in Philomont, VA. Our facilities include a lighted indoor arena, lighted grass riding ring with outer sand track, a 17-stall barn, riding trails, and several fields and paddocks. We have access to neighboring properties for trail riding which include fields, woods, and cross country jumps. We have equines to meet the size and skill of most riders, as well as some retirees & young stock. Our equines are provided with ample turnout and most of them live out 24/7 in mixed herds.
